VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
September 2, 1952
A regular meeting was held at the Municipal Building on Sept 2, 1952.
Members present:
E.A. Parent, Mayor; Harry Dow, Dan Bailey, R.A. Ryding, Trustees; H.A. Briggs,
Clerk
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Parent. The minutes of the last meeting were read and
approved.
A delegation with Charles Nogel as spokesman presented a petition asking the street lights between
Frank Nogel place and the Meadowvale road. After some discussion a motion was made by Bailey
and seconded by Briggs to recommend to the Power and Light Commission that three lights be
installed on this street. Carried.
The clerk was instructed to write the League of Minnesota Municipalities for sample ordinances
covering traffic regulations in villages.
A motion was made by Dow and seconded by Bailey to raise salary of Lester Derr to $335.00 per
month. Motion carried.
