VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
May 4, 1953
A regular meeting was held at the Municipal Building on May 4, 1953.
Members present:
E.A. Parent, Mayor; Harry Dow, Dan Bailey, August Meyer, Trustees; H.A. Briggs,
Clerk
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Parent. The minutes of the last meeting were read and
approved.
John MacGibbon, Village Attorney, was present. There was some discussion regarding civil defense.
A motion was made by Bailey and seconded by Meyer to blacktop part of State Street from Highway
169 two blocks west and to put seal coat on other streets where needed. Motion carried.
Ben Roper and F.J. Mack met with the Council regarding sewer construction in Walker Addition.
The matter was carried over to a later date.
A motion was made by Briggs and seconded by Meyer to raise pay of Marshall Micheau to $265.00 a
month salary plus $70.00 per month for use of car. Carried.
Building permits were approved for Ben Roper, F.J. Mack and L.C. Baldowsky.
The following bills were allowed and ordered paid:
