VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
July 6, 1953
A regular meeting was held at the Municipal Building on July 6, 1953.
Members present:
E.A. Parent, Mayor; Harry Dow, Dan Bailey, August Meyer, Trustees; H.A. Briggs,
Clerk
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Parent. The minutes of the last meeting were read and
approved.
Al Steinhart asked about getting city water at his place. He was unable to get enough signers on his
petition. Nothing further was done for the present.
Joe Schwab and Wm Anderson complained about drainage on their property. The Council agreed to
look the situation over.
Dick Halter and Wm Patenaude Jr. of the Elk River Utilities were present at the meeting. There was
a discussion in regard to the suggestion that the village hall might be used for both the utilities and
the council and library. The council agreed to give this matter consideration.
Fire Chief, Harry Dreissig, reported that the Fire Department will need some more fire hose soon.
