RESOLUTION FOR THE CITY OF ELK RIVER
A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CLOSING
OF A PORTION OF 6TH STREET .
WITHIN THE CITY OF ELK RIVER
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on June 17, 1991, before the
City Council at the Elk River Public Library on such
request after due published and posted notice had been
given as ~ell as personal notice to affected property
owners by the City Clerk on June 7, 1991, and all
persons interested were given an opportunity to be
heard; and,
WHEREAS, it appears that it will be in the best interest of the
City that the Right-of-way for 6th Street remain
Right-of-way, but that a portion of said Right-of-way
be closed for street purposes.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the
City of Elk River requests that the Minnesota
Department of Transportation reconvey the Right-of-way
for 6th Street to the City and that portion of 6th
Street described as follows be closed and cease its
function as a street:
That part of Lewis Street, also known as 6th Street,
as dedicated in the plat of W. H. Houlton's Addition
to the Village of Elk River according to said plat on
file and of record in the office of the County
Recorder, Sherburne County, Minnesota, lying Easterly
of the Southerly extent of the west line of Block 8,
in said W. H. Houlton's Addition to the Village of Elk
River to a line parallel with and distant 80.00 feet
Easterly of said Southerly extension of the West line.
Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Elk River
this 17th day of June, 1991.
