Mayor Dietz and Council will recognize the recent promotions of firefighter Casey Neuman to the
position of Lieutenant and Fire Prevention Specialist Jeff Smith to the position of Deputy Chief of
Community Risk Reduction.
Background/Discussion
Firefighter Neuman has successfully completed the department’s Officer Development Program and has
earned the support of the officer corps to be promoted to the open position of Lieutenant.
Jeff Smith has recently been promoted to a full-time firefighting position for the department and has been
reassigned from the Fire Prevention Specialist to the Deputy Chief of Community Risk Reduction
supporting the department’s re-organization.
