Elk Meeting of the EDA Beautification Committee

Members Present: Rhonda Magnussen, DJ Bakken, and Ann McCormick
Members Absent: Tamara Ackerman and Ryan Hardin
Staff Present: Colleen Eddy, Economic Development Specialist and Amanda Othoudt,
Economic Development Director
1. Call Meeting to Order
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting of the EDA Beautification Committee-
was called to order at 10:0 m.
2. Consider Agenda -
Motion by Bakken and seconded by Magnussen to approve the agenda. Motion
carried 3-0.
3.0 Consent Agenda
Motion by Magnussen and seconded by McCormick to approve the consent agenda.
Motion carried 3-0.
4.1 Review Policy and Judging Rubric
Ms. Eddy reviewed the policy. Member McCormick had one revision on page 3 under
eligibility.
4.2 Marketing and Promotion
Ms. Eddy opened the discussion. The committee discussed several ideas such as;utilizing an
Instagram account to showcase the winners,post a contest on Facebook,launch a survey on
the Rivers Edge Facebook page, tag winners with # and @ symbol on Twitter,present the
program at local networking groups (Colleen will create a one page flyer to distribute to the
various groups), create videos on the city's YouTube channel,announce the program during
the Summer Concert Series,include in the chamber newsletter and distribute information to
the county surveyor to get his thoughts.
5.1 Announcements
Next meeting is May 14, 2018 at 10:00'a.m.
6. Adjournment
Ms. Eddy adjourned the meeting at 10:30 a.m.
