4.9. SR 08-03-2020 Request for Action To Item Number Mayor and City Council 4.9 Agenda Section Meeting Date Prepared by Consent August 3, 2020 Lauren Wipper, Human Resources Manager Item Description Reviewed by Multipurpose Facility Superintendent Retro Pay Cal Portner, City Administrator Reviewed by Action Requested Approve, by motion, retroactive pay for Multipurpose Facility Superintendent Tim Dalton. Background/Discussion Tim Dalton has been serving in the capacity of Recreation Manager since Steve Benoit left on July 1, 2020. With the approval of the Multipurpose Facility Superintendent position description, Tim Dalton will be moved into that position. The Multipurpose Superintendent and the Recreation Manager positions fall into the same pay grade in the city’s pay plan, 5E. As Mr. Dalton will be moving to that pay grade at step A, staff recommends retroactive pay to July 2, 2020, the day after Mr. Benoit left. Financial Impact The recreation manager position was budgeted for half of 2020 at step C and half at step D. Mr. Dalton is starting at step A which will be less than budgeted for 2020.
