ORDINANCE 93 - 12
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ELK RIVER, MINNESOTA AMENDING
SECTION 300.00 OF THE CITY CODE, "WARDS"
Section 1. That Section 300.00 of the City Code of
Ordinances is hereby amended by eliminating the Precincts in
the City of Elk River and that the existing Wards shall remain
intact.
Section 2. That the boundaries for wards 1, 2, 3, and 4
have been redescribed to show the elimination of precincts and
shall read as follows:
300.00 - WARDS
The City of Elk River shall have a ward system for the election
of Councilmembers as follows:
WARD 1:
Northern Boundary: All that property within the
corporate limits of the City lying south of the following
described northern boundary:

Beginning at the intersection of Ranch Road (CR 33) and
the Zebulon Avenue alignment. East on Ranch Road to
County Road 1.
Western Boundary: All that property within the
corporate limits of the City lying east of the following
described western boundary:
Beginning at the intersection of 2l7th Avenue alignment
and the Zebulon Street alignment. South along the Zebulon
Street alignment to the Mississippi River.
Eastern Boundary: All that property within the
corporate limits of the City lying west of the following
described eastern boundary:

Beginning at the intersection of County Road 1 and County
Road 33. South on County Road 1 to County Road 32. West
on County Road 32 to Lander Street. South on Lander
Street to County Road 35. East on County Road 35 to
Meadowvale Road. East on Meadowvale Road to Xenia
Avenue. South on Xenia Avenue to US Highway 10. West on
US Highway 10 to the US Highway 10 Bridge and the Lake
Orono Shoreline, thence following the Lake Orono shoreline
in an easterly direction across the Orono Dam bridge; then
following the Elk River until it joins with the
Mississippi River.

Southern Boundary: All that property within the
corporate limits of the City lying north of the following
described southern boundary:
Beginning at the Mississippi River and the Zebulon Street
alignment. Following the Mississippi River easterly to
where the Mississippi River and the Elk River meet.
WARD 2:
Northern Boundary: All that property within the
corporate limits of the City lying south of the following
described northern boundary:
Beginning at the 229th Avenue alignment and the Zebulon
Street alignment. Commencing east along the 229th Avenue
alignment to the Jarvis Street alignment.
Western Boundary: All that property within the
corporate limits of the City lying east of the following
described western boundary:

Beginning at the Zebulon Street alignment and the 229th
Avenue Alignment. Commencing south along the Zebulon
Street alignment to the 217th Avenue alignment.
Eastern Boundary: All that property within the
corporate limits of the City lying west of the following
described eastern boundary:
Beginning at Jarvis Street and the 229th Avenue
alignment. South along the Jarvis Street alignment to
209th Avenue.
Southern Boundary: All that property within the
corporate limits of the City lying north of the following
described southern boundary:

alignment. Commencing east on 217th Avenue to County Road
1. South on County Road 1 to 193rd Avenue. East on 193rd
Avenue to Proctor Avenue. North on Proctor Avenue to

169. Commencing south on US Highway 169 to 5th Street.
East on 5th Street to County Road 13. North on County
Road 13 to Tyler Street. North on Tyler Street to Smith
Street. North on Smith Street to County Road 33. East on

to 209th Avenue. East on 209th to the Jarvis Street

County Road 35 to Meadowvale Road. Continuing east on
Meadowvale Road to Xenia Avenue. South on Xenia Avenue to
US Highway 10. West on US Highway 10 to the US Highway 10
Bridge and the Lake Orono Shoreline, thence following the
Lake Orono Shoreline in an easterly direction across the
Orono Dam Bridge; then following the Elk River until it

full force on November 10. 1993
