Grant, by resolution, municipal consent to MnDOT for the layout proposed as part of the 169 Redefine project
(S.P. 7106-87).
Background/Discussion
The layout being considered for approval with this item is the same as presented at the Public Hearing held on
August 17, 2020.
Final design work for the 169 Redefine project is just starting, and construction is expected to begin late 2022 run
through the 2024 construction season.
Financial Impact
Total city obligations towards the 169 Redefine project is estimated at $3 million plus any aesthetic elements that
exceed MnDOT cost obligations for those treatments. These costs will be worked into the Capital Improvement
Plan for the upcoming years.

A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Elk River approving the layout
for State Project 7106-87 on Trunk Highway 169
WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Transportation has prepared a final layout for State
Project 7106-87 on Trunk Highway 169, from the southern city limits to approximately

1,900-feet north of 197 Avenue Northwest within the City of Elk River for improvements;
and seeks the approval thereof, as described in Minnesota Statutes §161.162 to §161.167; and
WHEREAS, said final layout is on file in the District 3 Minnesota Department of
Transportation office, Baxter, Minnesota, being marked as Layout No. 1B, S.P. 7106-87,
from approximate R.P. 158+00.000 to 161+00.200.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Elk
River, Minnesota, as follows: said final layout for the improvement of said Trunk Highway
within the corporate limits be and is hereby approved.
