Approve, by motion, the purchase of four 2020 Hybrid Ford Police Interceptor SUV’s and authorize the set-up
and equipping of the vehicles.
Background/Discussion
Three Ford Police Interceptor SUVs for the Patrol Division were scheduled for replacement and budgeted for in
the Equipment Replacement Fund. The fourth SUV is the replacement of a squad totaled in a crash to which the
city is seeking insurance reimbursement.
The requested approval for each squad includes:
2020 Ford Hybrid Police Interceptor SUV - $37,270.56 (state contract pricing)
Emergency vehicle equipment/outfitting - $10,000
Cameras and radar - $10,000
Computer technology - $3,600
Command cabinet - $1,200
Financial Impact
$187,500 has been budgeted in the 2020 Equipment Replacement Fund for three squads and the fourth squad will
be reimbursed from the insurance claim.
