DISCUSSION:
TheBoard of Directors for the Minnesota Municipal Power Agency (MMPA) met virtually
on August 18, 2020. Both Commissioner Mary Stewart and I were in attendance.
There was a very nice video put together by Green Step Cities highlighting several
organizations in Minnesota, including Elk River. Kaylin Clement, Senior Communications
Coordinator forthe City, was the spokesperson and did a great job explaining the
partnership between the Utilities and the City in sustainability projects. Here is the link:

I have been working on insurance renewals for 2021. Currently this involves researching
an additional health insurance option with a higher deductible. The dental insurance
premiums are locked in for another year, so nothing needs to be done with that
insurance. The rates are still not available for the ancillary insurances of life, accidental
death & dismemberment, and disability, northe vision insurance rates.
The large conference room upgrade is complete! When COVID-19 is behind us and we
are once again in there for our commission meetings, it will be great for presentations.
Kudos to our IT/OT Technician, Parker Theisen, for taking on this project and delivering
such awesome results!
