Accept the Minnesota Recreation and Park Association Award of Excellence for the Active Elk River Initiative
and Rivers Edge Commons Park Expansion.
Background/Discussion
Steve Benoit from the Minnesota Recreation and Parks Association (MRPA) Awards Committee will present
to City Council the annual MRPA Awards of Excellence.
We will receive two awards this year – Active Elk River Initiative and Rivers Edge Commons Park Expansion.
The original plan was to receive the award in March until the pandemic.
The award is given to an organization that has completed a project that exemplifies the highest level of
excellence in Parks and Recreation.
