RESOLUTION 88-22
RESOLUTION FOR THE CITY OF ELK RIVER
RESOLUTION REQUESTING MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORATION
ASSISTANCE FOR UPGRADING MINNESOTA HIGHWAY 101
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River in conjunction with local units
of government and civic organizations that are affected
by the transporation patterns of Highway 101, have
formed a Select Highway 101 Committee in effort to
improve the transporation pattern and safety conditions
of Highway 1011 and,
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River has been chosen as the lead
agency for this committee and spearheading its efforts
toward improving Highway 1011 and,
WHEREAS, the Select Highway 101 Committee has determined that
the most significant change in Highway 101 that would
improve the traffic and safety conditions would be the
upgrading of Highway 101 from a two-lane transporation
route to a four-lane highwaY1 and,
~ WHEREAS, the Select Highway 101 Committee readily acknowledges
the need for expert advice and assistance from the
Minnesota Department of Transporation in order to
realize their goal of improving Highway 101.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Elk River that as the lead agency for the Select
Highway 101 Committee, the City is hereby requesting
advice and assistance from the Minnesota Department of
Transporation in its efforts to have Highway 101
upgraded from a two-lane transporation route to a four-
lane highway.
Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Elk River
this 28th day of March, 1988.
