Action Requested
Provide direction regarding Lake Orono Restoration and Enhancement (LORE) project and budget.
Background/Discussion
New Look Contracting Inc. was awarded the bid for the project for $2,117,140.00 on September 8, 2020.
The lake drawdown was completed on September 15. Staff continues to work with WSB & Associates for overall
project management.
The project budget was approved at $3.25 million with $1.5 million in state grant funding, $1 million from Active
Elk River and the remaining portion paid by adjacent lakeshore property owners. Estimated assessment costs were
discussed with City Council as part of the LORE Feasibility Summary on May 15, 2020. Project costs also include
approximately $250,000 in engineering, consulting, and legal fees.
The Council requested a discussion regarding the project budget before the construction phase.

The overall project budget is $3.25 million.
