VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
November 2, 1953
A regular meeting was held at the Municipal Building on Nov 2, 1953.
Members present:
E.A. Parent, Mayor; Harry Dow, Dan Bailey, August Meyer, Trustees; H.A. Briggs,
Clerk
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Parent. The minutes of the last meeting were read and
approved.
Lester Derr reported on drainage problems in west end of town.
A cigarette license was approved for Lewis Fickness for his service station.
The Council agreed to suspend sewer rental for Mrs. Scott while her house is closed up for the
winter.
There was some discussion regarding village zoning. Nothing definite was done at this meeting.
A motion was made by Briggs and seconded by Bailey to set the hours for the village election Dec 8
from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Motion carried.
The following bills were allowed and ordered paid:
