VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
October 12, 1954
A special meeting was held at the Municipal Building on Oct 12, 1954 for the purpose of making the
tax levy for 1955 and considering the building of a garage for the use of the village and the Power
and Light Commission.
Members present:
Edward Schwartz, Mayor; Harry Dow, Dan Bailey, August Meyer, Trustees; H.A.
Briggs, Clerk
Levy for 1955
General Fund 20 mills
R&B Fund 15 mills
Poor Fund 500.00
Library Fund 1800.00
Music Fund 1 mill
Firemen’s Relief Fund .1 mill
The business of building a garage was discussed. H.W. Fridlund Architect was present at the meeting
and gave the Council information and advice about the garage.
A motion was made by Bailey and seconded by Dow to engage Mr. Fridlund to prepare tentative
plans for the construction of the building.
