VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
February 7, 1955
A regular meeting was held at the Municipal Building on Feb 7, 1955.
Members present:
Edward Schwartz, Mayor; Harry Dow, Dan Bailey, August Meyer, Trustees; H.A.
Briggs, Clerk
The meeting was called to order by the Mayor. The minutes of the last meeting were read and
approved.
Mr. and Mrs. Worth of the Monticello Rest Home were present regarding a bill for the care of Mrs.
Vassar. Kendall Vassar who was present agreed to assume part of bill.
A motion was made by Bailey and seconded by Meyer to allow $300.00 assistance for care of Mrs.
Charlotte Vassar. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Briggs and seconded by Dow to renew on and off beer license of Tip-Top
Café. Carried.
Motion by Meyer and second by Briggs to furnish fire protection to Village of Dayton, Minn in
accordance with stipulations in contract. Motion carried.
The matter of the salary of the village marshall was up for discussion. A motion was made by Bailey
and seconded by Dow to make salary of Oliver Micheau $300.00 a month salary and $70.00 a month
for car expense. Carried.
