VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
April 4, 1955
A regular meeting was held at the Municipal Building on Apr 4, 1955.
Members present:
Edward Schwartz, Mayor; Harry Dow, Dan Bailey, August Meyer, Trustees; H.A.
Briggs, Clerk
The meeting was called to order by the Mayor Schwartz. The minutes of the last meeting were read
and approved.
There was discussed about village traffic and complaint of village marshall regarding parking of
trucks on village streets on week ends. The matter of a separate telephone for the police department
was discussed but no action was taken.
Fire Chief Harry Dreissig was present and recommended that a village ordinance be prepared
regulating the installation of gas furnaces in the village. The clerk was instructed to write the League
for a sample ordinance.
The council agreed to remove name of William Belanger from the Liquor Store black list.
There was a discussion regarding street work to be done this year and repairing of village sidewalks.
