VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
October 3, 1955
A regular meeting was held at the Municipal Building on Oct 3, 1955.
Members present:
Edward Schwartz, Mayor; Harry Dow, Dan Bailey, August Meyer, Trustees; H.A.
Briggs, Clerk
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Schwartz. The minutes of the last meeting were read and
approved.
Upon motion by Meyer and second by Bailey Rev Jansen was appointed to fill vacancy on village
Library Board.
Dale Palmer and H.L. Johnson presented propositions on fleet insurance for the village for the
council’s consideration.
Motion by Bailey and seconded by Dow to put to a referendum vote at the next regular village
election to set the salaries of councilmen at $12.50 per mo. And mayor salary at 17.50 per mo.
Motion carried.
The council decided to table bill of Minnesota motorized Fire Equipment Co. until an adjusted
claim is received.
