10-31-1955 VCM VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING October 31, 1955 A special meeting of the Elk River Village Council was called for October 31, 1955 for the purpose of considering a man to fill a vacancy cased by the resignation of Marshall Oliver Michean. All members were present. The Council decided to offer the position to Ernest Nelson at a salary of $300.00 per month plus $50.00 a month for car expense. The case of Oliver De Mars who askes the village to pay for glasses for his son whose eyesight is such that he is unable to go to school. After some discussion, a motion was made by Meyer and seconded by Dow to reject the claim for glasses for the reason that there appears to be evidence of neglect on the part of the parents. Motion carried. The Council recommended that the case be referred to the County Welfare Board for investigation. Meeting adjourned. H.A. Briggs Village Clerk
