VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
July 2, 1956
The regular meeting of the Elk River Village Council was held at the Municipal Building on July 2,
1956 with all members present. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Schwartz. The minutes of
the last meeting were read and approved.
Carmil Peloquin representing the Minnesota Fire Arms Safety Program was present. He asked if a
rifle range could be made on the Village dump property. The Clerk was asked to write the Village
attorney asking if the Village could get insurance to cover this activity.
A motion was made by Dow and seconded by Briggs to transfer $5,000.00 from the Liquor Fund to
the General Fund. Carried.
Moved by Bailey and seconded by Meyer to transfer $2,000.00 from the General Fund to the Road
and Bridge Fund. Carried.
The question of vacation pay for Geo. Mass camp up. The Council agreed to allow him two weeks
pay based on his average pay for the last several months.
