VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
May 5, 1958
The regular meeting of the Elk River Council was called to order by Mayor Johnson on May 5, 1958
with all members present.
Fire Chief, Harry Dressig was present and there was discussion regarding specification for the new
fire truck.
George Moos asked for a raise in salary. Upon motion by Meyer and second by Sandberg the

Council agreed to allow an increase of ten cents per hour for Moos beginning May 1.
Arlie McCullaugh complained about his neighbors dog doing damage on hie property. The Council
asked the Clerk to write McCullough that it will be necessary for him to make a formal complaint.
Trustee Sandberg proposed the attached Amendment No. 55 and moved its adoption. Motion was
seconded by Bergerson. Roll call vote: Meyer – No, Bergerson – yes, Sandberg – yes, Briggs – yes.
Motion carried.
A petition for sewer extension signed by property owners of Upper Town was presented to the
Council. The petition was tables until the next regular meeting.
It was suggested that Atty. Mac Gibbon be asked about authority to send boys to school patrol
school.
Oliver Micheau suggested that yield signs be placed at certain places. The Council agreed.
Storm sewers matter was up for discussion. Also plumbing code. Copies of a Village plumbing code
will be made for the next meeting.
