RESOLUTION 90 - 48
RESOLUTION FOR THE CITY OF ELK RIVER
A RESOLUTION RELATING TO SETTING THE CITY LANDFILL
FEE PURSUANT TO SECTION 605.08(3) OF THE CITY CODE
AND AMENDING RESOLUTION 90-31
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River has the authority to set a
landfill tipping fee pursuant to Minnesota Statutes
Section 115A.921; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River had previously established the
landfill tipping fee at $1 per cubic yard; and,
WHEREAS, the Elk River Landfill (ERL) appeared before the Elk
River City Council meeting of July 23, 1990,
requesting a temporary reduction in the landfill fee
to enable the ongoing economic vitality of ERL; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it in the public interest to
ensure that ERL is able to meet its financial and
environmental obligations;
e WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Elk River does hereby
temporarily reduce the solid waste tipping fee $.50
per cubic yard to be collected from ERL effective July
26, 1990, and;
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Elk River did consider
discussion of the fee at its meeting of September 19,
1990.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Elk River will again consider the fee at
its meeting of October 15, 1990.
Passed and adopted by the Elk River City Council this 17th day
of September, 1990.
