VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
July 20, 1942
A regular meeting was held in the Municipal building on July 20, 1942
All members were present.
The council decided to get an attorney general ruling on whether or not the R.E.A. could accept a
franchise to furnish electrical energy to the Village of Elk River and what rights the Village would
under such a franchise.
A motion was made by E.L.Shadick and second by G.A.Bailey to install and inch and one half water
pipe from the water main to the Court house.
A motion was made by G.A.Bailey and seconded by Cliint Walker to issue Jiles Casey a $10.00 food
stamp book.
A motion was made by E.L.Shadick and seconded by G.A. Bailey allowing the following bills:
Famous Brandes Inc. – Liquor $73.58
Distiller Distributing Corp. – Liquor $201.28
Geo Benz Sons Inc. – Liquor $86.10
Griggs Cooper & Co. – Liquor $129.85
Frank McCormick Inc. – Liquor $93.24
NowThen Ball Club – Advertising $5.00
