VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
August 3, 1942
The Village Council of the Village of Elk River met in the Municipal building on August 3, 1942 at
8:00 p.m.
Members present:
M.C. Tesch, Mayor, J. Clinton Walker, Clerk and E.L. Shadick and Frank Nickerson
trustees.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
An application was received from Robert Cornelius for school for 1942 – 1943.
A motion was made by E.L. Shadick and seconded by Frank Nickerson appointing Robert Cornelius
to the position of School Patrol. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Frank Nickerson and seconded by E.L Shadick granting J.P. Wagner an off
sale 3:2 beer license. Motion carried.
Ellen Tracy asked that her rent be paid to E.R. Halter in the amount of $8.00 due August 15, 1942.
A motion was made by E.L. Shadick and seconded by Frank Nickerson that the amount be paid.
A letter was read from Miss Gladys Hulbert in which she requested $10.00 rent, $10.00 food stamps,
50 cents moving charge and that her furniture be moved to St. Cloud. A motion was made by Frank
Nickerson and seconded by E.L. Shadick allowing these items. Miss Hulbert also asked for a
Spencer girdle and an examination by Dr. Logefild, which was denied.
Mayor Tesch appointed E.L. Shadick and Frank Nickerson and committee to get the roof repaired
on the Municipal building.
A motion was made by Frank Nickerson and seconded by E.L. Shadick accepting the Library report.
The clerk was instructed to write to Monticello skating that there would be no charge for the service
of the E.R.F.D. at the recent fire there.
A motion was made by Frank Nickerson and seconded by E.L. Shadick allowing the following bills:
