VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
April 5, 1943
The regular meeting of the Elk River Village Council was held in the Municipal building on April 5,
1943 with all members present.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
The matter of investing idle funds in Government securities was discussed. A.Bailey moved and
Elmer Le?? Seconded that $5,000 be taken out of the Dist. #1 ??ver Fund and $3,000 out of the
General Fund and invested in Government Certificates of Indebtedness, 7/8% for one year.
After discussing the matter of stray dogs and Victory Gardens, it was decided that an ad be run in
the Star News, warning people to keep their dogs on their property and at home.
D.P. Christian was present at the meeting and asked for a permit to move Shell Oil Station formerly
owned by Morris Willson to his property north of Liquor Store. Elkmer Leg?? Moved and Ernie
Shadick seconded that permission be granted.
It was moved and seconded that application of Ma?? Johnson for beer be approved.
Art Bailey moved and Elmer Leger seconded that Roger Booth be granted permission to build
addition to his house, subject to approval of war priorities board.
Ernie Shadick moved and Art Bailey seconded that following bills be approved and paid.
