10-04-1943 VCM VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING October 4, 1943 The regular meeting of the Elk River Village Council was held in the Municipal building on October 4, 1943 Members present Shaddick, Leger, and Briggs. E.L. Shaddick acted as acting President in the absence of M. Bailey. W. Grapner and Ray Ellingson appeared in regard to extending the time limit on bowling at the Recreation after eleven p.m. Motion by Leger and seconded by Briggs that Leo Doyle be given permission to allow bowling until 12 midnight with no game to start after 11:30 p.m. Permission to be withdrawn if Council sees fit. Motion carried. Clerk was instructed to write letter to Doyle explaining action of Council, with copy to Charles Nelson. Motion by Leger and seconded by Briggs that following building permits be approved: Henry Rahn to build garage not to cost over $200.00 To Harold Warneke to move frame building to back of land belonging to Mrs. Jessie Walker. To Minnesota Farm Bureau Service Co. to erect a cement block building on back of lot acquired by Farmers Co-op Station.
