VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
October 7, 1943
Special meeting of the Elk River Village Council was held in the Municipal building on October 7,
1943
Members present Shaddick, Leger, Briggs, Bailey.
A committee representing the Anoka Cooperative Association consisting of Mr. Rogella, Vice
President, Mr. Swanson and Mr. Marris met with the council in connection with the proposed
purchase of the local electric power and transmission lines by the Anoka Cooperative Association.
? Affairs Committee of the Elk River Commercial Club Consisting of R.R. Wilson, Chairman, L.D.
Bailey, Sam Houlton and Ray Riding also met with the Council.
Mr. Rogella stated that money had been appropriated for the purchase of the local plant and that his
company wished to cooperate with the Village in giving the patrons good service, also that they
would be willing to let the Village of Elk River purchase the distributing system anytime they desired
to do wo.
After considerable discussion it was decided to have a previous survey of the local system brought in
to date and another meeting called for a later date.
On motion meeting adjourned.
