VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
February 1, 1943
The Village Council of the Village of Elk River was held in the Municipal building on February 1,
1943 at 8:00 p.m., with the following members present M.C. Tesch, Frank Nickerson, E.L. Shadick,
G.A. Bailey, Elmer Leger, A.F. Roehlke.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
G.A. Bailey called attention to number of firemen required at fires and this matter was discussed.
G.A. Bailey moved and Elmer Leger seconded that the $2,000 loaned to Liquor Fund be transferred
back to General Fund. Motion Carried.
N.M. Raggatz and Leger called in person to discuss matter of numbers of firemen going out to fires.
They also pointed out that snow be removed around hydrants to make them accessible in case of
fire.
E.L. Shadick moved and G.A. Bailey seconded the wages for street labor be increased from $0.35 to
$0.40 per hour. Motion carried.
G.A. Bailey moved and Elmer Leger seconded that Village Council approve the appraisal as
submitted by County Board on tax delinquent parcels of lands. Motion carried.
