VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
January 3, 1944
Regular meeting of the Elk River Village Council was held in the Municipal building on January 3,
1944.
Meeting called to order by acting Mayor, G.A. Bailey who introduced the new Mayor elect Glenn W.
Davidson. New Trustee, John Kramer was also introduced. All members were present.
Charles Nelson met with council. It was moved by Briggs and seconded by Leger to reappoint
Charles Nelson as Village Marshall at present salary with ten days’ vacation allowed each year with
pay. Nelson to make arrangements for a reliable substitute while away. Motion carried.
Moved by Bailey and seconded by Kramer that the bonds of H.A. Briggs, as clerk and H.J. Pfeiffer,
Justice of the Peace be approved and that the Village pay the premiums. Motion carried
Moved by Bailey and seconded by Kramer that bills for equipment for Fire Department be allowed.
Motion carried.
