VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
May 1, 1944
Regular meeting of the Elk River Village Council was held in the Municipal building on May 1, 1944.
All members were present.
A committee composed Ben Lester, Carl Westbery, John A. Johnson and Lawrence Floodman met
with the council and asked help in getting the John Orton placed cleaned up. The council agreed to
give the matter consideration and see that something is done about it.
Moved by Kramer and seconded by Leger that $15.00 be allowed for glasses for Mrs. Selhaver.
Motion carried.
Rupert Zimmer reported that dumping was not being done properly at the village dump. Signs were
ordered to be put up.
Andy Madson asked that a fill be made in his sidewalk.
Motion by Bailey and seconded by Leger that the band stand be painted and repaired. Also, that “no
parking” signs be placed in the proper spaces and that signs be placed at the dump and notice in
regard to dumpling be placed in the local paper. Motion carried.
Motion by Leger and seconded by Kramer that $5.00 be allowed this County Planning Board for
post war planning. Motion carried.
The clerk was instructed to write a warrant for that amount.
