SPECIAL MEETING VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
October 4, 1945
A special meeting of the Village Council was held at the Municipal Building in on October 4, 1945.
The following members were present: Davidson, Leger, Skellinger and Briggs.
The purpose of the meeting was to close the deal by which the Village of Elk River took over the
property of the Elk River Power and Light Co. Other persons present were Mr. Winters, Mr. L.G.
Nelson, Attorney Barber, Mr. Tyler, Mr. Halslo and J.H. Daly, Village Treasurer. The final papers
were signed and a certified check was delivered by Mr. Daly the Village Treasurer to Mr. Winters at
the First National Bank of Elk River at 12:15 P.M.
The Clerk was instructed to notify the following insurance companies of the sale, with whom the
Elk River Power and Light Co. had policies:
St. Paul Fire and Marine Ins. Co. of St. Paul
United States Fire Ins. Co. – Freeport, MN
