SPECIAL MEETING VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
March 28, 1946
A special meeting of the Village Council was held at the Municipal Building on March 28, 1946.
Members present Mayor Davidson and Trustees Leger, Skellenger and Briggs.
A large committee of representative citizens were present and brought up the matter of community
recreation program for the summer. The Council was willing to cooperate in this project and a
motion was made by Leger and seconded by Skellenger that the Village make a lease with the grange
for land to be used for one or more base ball diamonds at $25.00 per year plus the amount of the
taxes. The motion carried. A committee of the grange with power to act were present at the meeting.
A motion was made by Skellenger and seconded by Leger that a second girl be hired for the Public
Utilities office to take care of extra work at $90.00 a month. The motion carried.
