10-01-1962 VCM VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING October 1, 1962 The regular meeting of the Elk River Village Council was held at the Village Hall on Oct 1, 1962. All members were present. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Johnson. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Upon motion by Larson and second by Kemper an on and off beer license renewal was granted to Sherman Sachs. A motion was made by Briggs and seconded by Larson to authorize the Elk River Fire Department to answer fire calls outside the village limits as well as in the village. Motion carried all voting in favor. Mr. Harold Kapping was present. He inquired about the cost of putting in sewer and water on his property on Main Street which was considered too high __ to County requirements as the property is on a county road. He will take this up with the county. A motion was made by Larson and seconded by Kemper to ask the clerk to write the village health officer to report on the following persons who have not connected to the sewer as required by law. Mrs. Millhouse, Galloti Bros. James Stevenson, Grover Mabrupe, Otis Nickerson. Motion by Kemper, second by Larson to transfer $5000.00 from the Sewer Fund to the General Fund for labor expense paid out of General Fund. Trustee Meyer introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption. Resolved that the following real estate situated in the county of Sherburne and State of Minnesota and named owned by the village is no longer required for Municipal purposes to-wit: All that part of the NE ¼ of the SW ¼ of Section 32, Township 33, Range 26 lying northeasterly of old U.S. Highway No. 10 which was known as the Elk River-Big Lake Road. And be it further resolved that the mayor and clerk are hereby authorized to execute appropriate instruments of conveyance thereof to Hogan A Wingness and Anna Wingness upon receipt of $1.00 therefor. Trustee Kemper seconded the motion and the motion was duly carried. Trustee Larson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: Resolved that the plat of north Terrace Addition laid out and dedicated by the Builders Land th Company bearing date of the 24 day September 1962 having been heretofore examined and approved by this council and the village attorney, be and the same is hereby approved and accepted and the streets and public park dedicated thereby be and hereby are constituted village streets and a village park respectively, and the mayor and clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute such approval and acceptance thereon. Trustee Meyer seconded the motion. The motion was duly carried. The following levy was made for the coming year: General Fund 33 mills Utilities 5 mills Library Fund 5 mills Poor Fund 2 mills Music Fund ½ mill Firemen’s Relief 1/10 mill The levy for bond indebtedness will remain the same as last year. An application for a building permit was approved for Robt. Dare, location lots 4 and 5, Block 6, and Lot 17 Aud. Sub. No. 14.
