VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
December 3, 1962
The regular meeting of the Elk River Village Council was held at the village hall on Dec 3, 1962 with
all members present. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Johnson. The minutes of the last
meeting were read and approved.
The matter of appointing someone to take the place of Jas Bailey on the Power and Light
Commission was postponed until the next meeting.
Fire Chief Harry Dreissig was given permission to order 150 feet of fire hose.
A motion was made by Briggs and seconded by Larson to appoint the following on the Library
Board:
Mrs. Curtis Briggs 1 yr
Ray Erdahl 3 yrs
Mrs. Curtis Buck 3 yrs
Motion carried.
Application for building permit was tabled until more information is received.
The Council decided to raise the levy for the Poor Fund to 3 mills instead of 2 mills.
The clerk was asked to write the League of Minnesota Municipalities and invite them to hold one of
their sectional meeting at Elk River.
