VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
April 1, 1963
The regular meeting of the Elk River Village Council was held at the Village Hall on Apr 1, 1963. All
members were present.
The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
Complaints have come in regarding several places in the village which are considered health hazards.
The clerk was asked to write Dr. Sommer, Chairman of the village board of health asking him to
make inspection of the following: Spain house, Grover Malrupe, Otis Nickerson.
Paul Carton was present at the meeting. He asked about having water and sewer extensions on the
street south of the senior high school. This will be taken up later.
Ed Schwartz was present. He complains about a trailer house on the lot next to his property. The
trailer belongs to Wm. Lee. He quoted a state law regarding trailer homes. He says a prospective
buyer for his home cannot get a F.H.A. loan if the trailer house is there. The clerk was asked to write
Mr. Lee to have the trailer out of there not later than Apr. 13.
Pat Donahue attended the meeting. He would like to have the Village pay at least part of the
expense of a new sidewalk on his property on Third Street for the reason that it was not put in right
in the first place. Nothing was done about it at this meeting.
The R.C.P.A. wants to use the village dump and the council agreed to let them use it at the rate of
$25.00 a year.
