A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING THE SERVICE OF STEWART WILSON
TO THE CITY OF ELK RIVER PLANNING COMMISSION
WHEREAS,

Stewart Wilson was appointed to the City's Planning
Commission on July 16, 19a4, and served on the Planning
Commission through December of 1987, and;
during Stewart Wilson's tenure as a member of the
Planning Commission, the City of Elk River experienced
rapid growth in residential, commercial, and
industrial areas, and;
during Stewart Wilson's tenure as a member of the
Planning Commission, the City realized substantial
commercial development through the Planning
Commission's time consuming efforts in creating a
Planned Unit Development around Highway 169, south of
School Street, and;
in addition to serving as a voting member of the
Planning Commission, Stewart Wilson also served as
Chairman of the Planning Commission and his leadership
was a significant factor in obtaining Planning
Commission consensus on Planning and Zoning issues,
and;
it is highly appropriate that Stewart's outstanding
service to the City of Elk River should be recognized
and expressed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Elk River, that Stewart Wilson's service to the City of
Elk River is hereby recognized as a significant
contribution towards the quality growth the City of Elk
River has realized, and also was a significant
contributing factor in making the City of Elk River a
more desirable City in which to live.
Passed and adopted by the Elk River City Council this sixth day
of June, 1988.
