Council motion setting canvassing meeting date and time.
Background/Discussion
Staff was waiting for clarification from the city attorney on when the canvassing board meeting could be held due to
some recent law changes.
Council will need to act as the canvassing board to certify local election results. This meeting must be held between
the third and tenth day after the election, between Friday, November 6 and Friday, November 13.
I don't believe staff will be prepared to present the results on Friday, November 6 and would ask Council to set a
meeting time for one of the following days:
■ Monday, Nov. 9
■ Tuesday, Nov. 10
■ Thursday, Nov. 12
■ Friday, Nov. 13
