6.1.E ERMUSR 11-10-2020UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING TO:FROM: ERMU Commission Tom Sagstetter – Conservation & Key Accounts Manager MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: November 10, 2020 6.1e SUBJECT: Staff Update ACTION REQUESTED: None DISCUSSION: In the last 30 days, the level two charger located downtown had 19 sessions and provided customers with 384kWh of green energy. The DC fast charger at the Coborn’s fuel station had 10sessions and provided126 kWh. The charger in the ERMU/City Hall parking lot had 15 sessionsand provided customers with 110kWh. There was a totalof 44 charging sessions and 620 kWh of energy provided over the last 30 days. TheHometown Wind Turbine is completewith the finalstep being the application of MMPA and City of Elk River logos on November 5. The LED bulb and newsletter promotion is largely complete. There was a total of 592 new subscribers, but staff will continue to enroll and deliver the LED bulbs as additional customers come in over the coming months. Staff is currently working on four solar PV installations, there is one system in Otsego and three in Elk River. There may be additional requests coming in over the next couple weeks for customers trying to get them completed prior to December 31. There is currently a 26% federal tax credit that is set to expire at the end of the year. Staff had the opportunity to speak at a Great Plains Institute event on EV rates for public charging stations and time-of-use rates. The meeting was very well attended, and staff was able to present with Plug-In-America, and Dakota Electric Association. Attended the Central Municipal Power Agency/Services (CMPAS) annual meeting in Mankato. During this meeting there was detailed discussion about the benefits of owning transmission to help offset the increasing transmission rates. ERMU participates in the transmission market through the Midwest Municipal Transmission Group. During American Public Power Association’s Customer Connections Virtual Conference staff attended two sessions, one on the need for communication networks to allow for the interplay between customer behavior and satisfaction, and another on reliability, rates, and the benefits to the environment from energy conservation. ______________________________________________________________________________ Page 1 of 1 92
