VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
August 3, 1964
The regular monthly meeting of the Elk River Village Council was held at the village hall on Aug 3,
1964. All members were present. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Johnson. The minute of
the last meeting were read and approved.
An on and off beer license was approved for Elroy Cornelius at the Crossroads Café.
Mag Johnson attended the meeting. He suggested that an overhead sign on Main and Jackson St
would be better than the stop sign there now.
A motion was made by Norris and second by Meyer to vacate that part of Norfolk Ave. lying south
of Manor Place. See petition of Ellen H. Bailey and Edith B. Wilson. Motion carried.
A petition was filed by Edwin Dreissig asking that Xenia Ave between Eighth St and Wand St be
paved. Petition on file.
A motion was made by Meyer and seconded by Bartelt to approve the petition provided it is legal
and approved by Engineer Mills.
An account of Labor Day, Sept 7, the council decided to hold the Sept meeting on Sept 1, Tuesday.
