VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
January 17, 1966
The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Elk River Village Council was called to order by Mayor
Coles on January 17, 1966. All members were present. The minutes of the last meeting were read
and approved.
Chairman, Archie Larson of the Village Park Board was present. He asked if the Board should be
continued. The Council wishes to continue the Board and re-appointed the members: Archie Larson
– Chairman, Lester Derr, Albert Bailey, Herb Greupner, Mag Johnson and Clarence Anderson.
Neil Larson attended the meeting. He has tentative plans for some of sort of business to be started
on the corner of Main Street and Highway 169.
Engineer William Mills attended the meeting. He gave the Council a thorough explanation of his
work on Angel Street near the Senior Citizens apartments regarding the grading.
John Bailey appeared. He asked about an assessment against Mrs. L. D. Bailey for street assessment
on Lot 2, Auditors No. 3 which was illegal. The Council previously agreed not to make this
assessment. The Clerk was asked to write the County Auditor to make this correction.
