RESOLUTION 89-18
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE HOUSING AND REDEVELOPMENT
AUTHORITY OF ST. CLOUD TO IMPLEMENT THE SECTION 8 HOUSING
PROGRAM WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF ELK RIVER
On motion of: Councilmember Dobel
Seconded by: Councilmember Kropuenske
WHEREAS, the Housing and Redevelopment Authority of St. Cloud
has been duly organized pursuant to Laws 1971, Chapter
333, Section 2, having all of the powers and duties of
a housing and redevelopment authority under the
provisions of the Municipal Housing and Redevelopment
Act; Minnesota Statutes, Sections 469.001 to 469.047,
and acts amendatory thereof; and,
WHEREAS, the Housing and Redevelopment Authority of St. Cloud
desires to assist low income elderly and families to
obtain adequate housing in the City of Elk River at a
price they can afford, and to accomplish this purpose
desires to undertake a program of subsidizing rent
payments to landlords who provide adequate housing to
such individuals and families.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF ELK RIVER,
MINNESOTA, that the Housing and Redevelopment Authority
of St. Cloud program of rental assistance to low income
elderly and families is hereby approved within the
boundaries of the City of Elk River.
Adopted by the Elk River City Council this 20th day of March,
1989.

INDEMNIFICATION AGREEMENT .
THIS AGREEMENT is made and entered into on this
day of
, 1989, by and between St. Cloud Housing and Redevelopment
Authority, located at 619 Mall Germain, City of St. Cloud, County of
Stearns, State of Minnesota, referred to as "Indemnitor" and the City of
Elk River, County of Sherburne, State of Minnesota, referred to as
"Indemni tee".
In consideration of passage of the attached Resolution by the City
Council of Indemnitee, Indemnitor agrees to indemnify Indemnitee from and
against all liability or loss that Indemnitee may sustain as a result of
claims, demands, costs, or judgments arising from the Indemnitor's opera-
tion and administration of a Section 8 Rent Assistance Program in the City
of Elk River, County of Sherburne, State of Minnesota.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties have executed this Agreement effective
the day and year first above written.
