Action Requested
Appoint, by motion, the following Mayoral recommendations for terms beginning January 1, 2021:
1. Nate Ovall to the Housing and Redevelopment Authority for a five-year term beginning January 1, 2021,
and expiring December 31, 2025.
2. Isaac Blaske to the Library Board for a three-year term beginning January 1, 2021, and expiring December
31, 2023.
Background/Discussion
Per the Advisory Board and Commission Policy, the Mayor shall make appointments to the Economic
Development Authority, Housing and Redevelopment Authority, and Library Board with approval of the Council.
Michelle Eder decided not to seek reappointment to the Housing and Redevelopment Authority. The Mayor is
recommending Nate Ovall to fill Ms. Eder’s position. He is recommending Councilmember Wagner to fill
Councilmember Ovall’s Council representative position on the HRA.
State statute states “a library board member shall not be eligible to serve more than three consecutive three-year
terms”. Mary Eberley is finishing her third consecutive term and therefore is not eligible for reappointment. Staff
advertised for the position and received four great applications. Mayor Dietz conducted phone interviews and is
recommending Isaac Blaske to fill the Library Board position.
