DISCUSSION:
The Board of Directors for the Minnesota Municipal Power Agency (MMPA) met virtually
on November 24. Both Commissioner Mary Stewart and I were in attendance.Their final
2021 rates will be determined at the December 22 board meeting.
Continuing with changes as we prepare for Mark Fuchs retirement this December, we
promoted Scott Thoreson to the Line Crew Foreperson position effective Tuesday,
December 2. The Lead Lineworker posting is open through Friday, December 4. This will
likely result in a lineworker position to fill externally. We will continue to update you as
this transitioning occurs.
Staff is still working on the dashboard initiative to build a substation east ofHighway
169 along Highway 10 by 2025.
November was the last month for our consulting agreement with former general
manager Troy Adams. One of the items he was working on was finalizing some policies. I
will review those and likely present them in January.
I am working with HRExpertiseBP consultant, Debra Englund, to implement a leadership
training program inhouse, specific to our next level of leaders to be developed, per the
Organizational Effectiveness Survey initiative.
