Review and discuss proposed change to the compensation plan for on -call firefighters.
Background/Discussion
On -call firefighters for the City of Elk River have traditionally been paid for responding to calls at a set rate.
All firefighters are currently receiving the same rate of pay regardless of years of service and experience.
We are proposing a tiered pay plan that gives an increase in pay that represents the experience and education
gained through years of service. In addition, we are requesting a rate increase for Duty Officer pay
represented by cost of living increases since the program's inception.
