DISCUSSION:
Delivered eleven new water meters.
Sealed the water meter, installed an encoder receiver transmitter, and took curb stop
ties from thirteen water services.
Completed 15 BACTI/Total Chlorine Residual Samples
o All confirmed negative for Coliform Bacteria
o Bacteriological/Disinfectant Residual Monthly Report submitted to the MDH
Completed 21 routine fluoride samples
o All samples met MDH standards
o Submitted MDH Fluoride Report
SubmittedDischarge Monitoring Report for the Diesel Generation Plant to the
Minnesota Pollution Control Agency.
Verizon Wireless has completed an upgrade of their antenna equipment on the Gary
Street Water Tower. Verizon will also be starting installation of equipment on The
Freeport Street Water Tower in early January.
The water department continues to work with city staff on maintaining the water level
for the Lake Orono Restoration and Enhancement, as well as planning for future
construction work at Orono Park and Fire Station 3.
WilliamCourtrighthas accepted the new Water Utility Worker position, which was
created to help perform device testing required for the backflow prevention program.
Mr. Courtright has been with ERMU for the past three summers as a seasonal worker.
He has expanded his role over that time, quickly proving with his experience and work
ethic that he has a lot to offer the department.
The water operators have started the annual task ofrecharging all of the filters at the
water treatment plants. This process takes roughly one week per filter. They are also
performing preventative maintenance on the plants, repairing or upgrading any items
requiring attention as they carry out the recharges.
