Terms begin immediately and expire February 29, 2024. Background/Discussion The Heritage Preservation Commission recently expanded from five members to a seven-member commission. The positions were advertised on social media and the website and staff received three applications. All applicants have been notified of the interviews. To help make a positive impact on our community. It sounds incredibly interesting to be a part of preserving Elk River history. What skills, training, and experience would you bring to the commission for which you seek appointment? I am not sure what type of skills would be beneficial in this role. The website does not give a detailed description of the role, or what it entails. I have worked in office settings for many years, as well as in a customer service role for about 5 years. To me, the meaning of having a heritage preservation commission would be to ensure that future generations are aware of the city's history, and have a place to visit, whether in person, or online, to learn about the city's past and people, and how that brought us to where we are today.
