Action Requested
Adopt, by motion, an amendment to Resolution 20-100, 2021 Compensation Plan for Non-Organized Employees.
Background/Discussion
Resolution 20-100, 2021 Compensation Plan for Non-Organized Employees, was adopted by the City Council on
December 21, 2020.
During the Council work sessions on January 4, 2021, and January 19, 2021, Fire Chief Mark Dickinson presented,
and City Council indicated a consensus to a change to the pay structure for paid on-call firefighters.
This amendment changes the firefighter pay structure retroactive to January 1, 2021.
Financial Impact
Estimated financial impact is $17,000. This was calculated using 2020 calls with the new pay rates. As there are
many variables related to the calls that come in and the response required, the true impact of this change is
unknown. Chief Dickinson believes there are sufficient funds budgeted for 2021 to cover this change.
