Action Requested
Adopt, by motion, an ordinance amending Chapter 42, Section 56, Mineral Excavation term of license.
Background/Discussion
The Natural Resources Mineral Excavation ordinance language currently details the annual license period as
January through December.
Issuing the annual license for July through June better meets the needs and intent of this ordinance. This schedule
allows for annual license application and site visits to be completed in the spring before significant work begins for
gravel mining operations. The license period is also detailed in the annual license for each operator.
