A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING THE SERVICE OF JOHN PEARCE
TO THE CITY OF ELK RIVER
John Pearce was appointed to the City's Planning Commission on
January 1, 1981 and served on the Planning Commission until
March 1985,
During John Pearce tenure as a member of the Planning Commission,
the Planning Commission and City Council completely revised and
updated the City's Zoning Ordinance and map and Subdivision
Ordinance which required significant amounts of time and effort
on both the Planning Commission and City Council's part; and,
During John Pearce tenure as a member of the Planning Commission,
the City of Elk River experienced significant growth, and signifi-
cant changes and adjustments as a result of the City of Elk River
and Township of Elk River consolidation in January of 1978, requiring
decisions by the Planning Commission; and,
Recently during John Pearce tenure as a member of Planning Commis-
sion, the Planning Commission devoted significant time and effort
to completion and development of a five-year capital improvement
program for the City of Elk River; and,
John Pearce has also served on the City's Economic Development
Commission aiding in preparing for a Star City Award.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Elk River that
John Pearce service to the City of Elk River is hereby recognized
as a significant contribution towards the controlled quality growth
of the City of Elk River and also, a significant and contributing
factor in making the City of Elk River a more desirable city in
which to live.
